My name is Michael Quinn and I have spent my entire life in Shops.

Whether I am Managing Shops, Serving and Selling in Shops, Training and Mentoring in Shops or Shopping in Shops that’s where you will find me. In fact, if you were to take off the amount of time I’ve spent in Shops I’m only eighteen!

Over some fifty years Retail has been my life, it is the very air I breath and has brought me immeasurable joy.

I have worked with Luxury Brands notably Ralph Lauren where I served for several years as the European Training Manager.
I have worked for Brands where technical knowledge of the product is vital such as the British premier footwear Brand and Royal Warrant Holder Crockett&Jones. There I was the Training Manager for staff in fourteen stores worldwide responsible for their personal service levels, learning and development.


I’m sure that you would agree with me that now as never before our shops have to be places where customers delight in coming. Places where they have a real uplifting experience. How do we achieve that? Product, Decor and Display are all important but nothing is more of a clincher than the role of your staff.


Your salespeople have to engage with the client on a very emotional, human level to provide the most exceptional service.I heartily hold to the old adage; you don’t sell the product you sell yourself.
